One of my best friends from college said every time I changed lotions, SHE had to change lotions, so intent was I on having my friends experience The Best.

I'm still that way. Only now I share my views far beyond the dorm walls.

I try almost every toxic-free new product I see. I slather it, drink it, rub it in my hair, devour it--whatever the appropriate verb, I do it! When I find the BEST slather-able, drinkable, rub-able, whatever-able new thing, I share it here.

Sometimes "The Best" are people or organizations I think are worth knowing about...usually they involve inspiring mothers, helping us all create a healthier place for our kids to live!

Aquasana

Since people always ask which water filter I use for my own home, I thought I should make it public, and award Aquasana with a Quest for The Best designation! (If I didn't consider it the best, I wouldn't be using it for my family!)

eden foods

eden foods

Eden Foods is a maverick hero company. They do what’s right because it’s right.

  • They don’t use bisphenol-A (BPA) to line their canned beans (which is why they’re the only canned beans I use). Bisphenol-A has been implicated in cancer, genetic scrambling, diabetes, endocrine disrupting, etc.
  • They are actively non-GMO. Almost 10 years ago, the New York Times tested 11 soy and corn based foods, and EDENSOY soymilk was the only one with no genetically modified organisms!
  • Eden organic standards are so high, the USDA organic label isn’t rigorous enough to be used on Eden products.
  • Eden keeps careful track of their suppliers, so they know where all the food they sell you comes from.
